Ramxes Reaches New Heights On ‘Dystopic Silence’ EP
Houston, Texas: We are excited to share new EP by Houston creative, Ramxes (pronounced Ramses). Dystopic Silence comes out at just the perfect time as US cities are plagued by racial tension, and the country seems to be, well, quite dystopic if you ask us. But producer Ramxes gives us hope, and a new soundtrack to the revolution.
Right from the start, you are taken to an uncertain future as ‘Andromeda Villa’ sets the tone of the album nicely. The EP is rich with large sounding synths and tasty, ethereal chords that will have you feeling like you are looking down a skyscraper in a futuristic metropolis. The whole project seems to sound like Akira meets 2020 Chicago, or Minneapolis even.
Listen to our favorite tracks, “Remdesivir” and “Millennial Warfare”
Each track builds upon the dystopian theme, some titles bearing names unique to Houston. One word that comes to mind when listening to Ramxes’s new EP is, soundscapes. What he does so well on his projects is create a palpable atmosphere behind his theme or vibe. Each track plays like the soundtrack to a dystopian movie set in Houston. Maybe Ramxes will treat us to visuals to the project. Until then, enjoy Dystopic Silence.
