Dre A.M Releases Brooding Single ‘Serotonin’ To Give You Night Terrors
Picture this: A quiet night and the world is still, not even in New York, City can a mouse make a peep. All seems well but something is a tad bit off. In chimes the discordant opening melody of Queens native, Dre A.M’s ‘Serotonin’. What seemed to be a quiet night quickly becomes a nightmare as Dre A.M’s brooding vocals begin to surround you. As the intensity builds up to the song’s chorus, you find yourself trapped in state of sleep paralysis, impending doom imminent. Thus is the feeling one gets when first hearing this song.
Who is Dre A.M?
A Queens, New York native and self-proclaimed starving artist, he pinpoints the moment he fell love with hip hop when he saw the movie ‘8 mile’ at age twelve. Drawing inspiration from acts like Earl Sweatshirt and Meechy Darko, Dre A.M creates his own sound which is an infusion of multi-syllabic rhyme schemes, tongue in cheek wordplay, and ‘slapping’ hip hop drum loops. He is one of the founding members of Internet Strangers. The collective consists of artists from around the globe who met on Reddit and collaborate on music via the internet. Their two eps on Spotify have amassed a large following of listeners, and for good reason. They are a perfect fusion of hip hop and R&B. Each artist on the roster is a movement by themselves, so it is no wonder that they are a force when together.
Later this year Dre A.M plans to release his solo debut, featuring ‘Serotonin’. You can check out more of his work via Internet Strangers and get acclimated below:
