Houston’s FlygerWoods Pushes The Envelope on New Ep ‘Light of Day’
Houston, Texas: Houston emcee FlygerWoods has brought in the new year on a light note. All pun intended, the Houston emcee has released a new ep titled, “Light of Day” and it has left us guessing what trajectory this talented lyricist is apt to take his music this year. “Light of Day” is short, sweet, and seemingly cuts straight to the point as with just six minutes in, the “Back 2 Back” artist gives us an earful. Covering topics ranging from observing “crabs-in-a-barrel” mentalities, to the Flint water crisis, FlygerWoods touches on the more abstract, taking listeners on a journey through the outer echelons of his mind. “Light of Day” seems to so beautifully and succinctly bring listeners into these concepts by almost immediately immersing them into different “scenes”. Assuming each track represented a movie scene, the project would serve as the perfect soundtrack. From picturing a young FlygerWoods riding his trike as kid growing into a man driving an Impala on “Lasabres & Impalas” or seeing him try to reason with his girl on “No Sense”, this new ep plays like the original soundtrack to a FlygerWoods movie yet to be released.
‘Light of Day’ is available now on all streaming platforms. The project was produced by Houston based creative & producer Todd Louis (Things With Todd), and includes a feature by legendary rapper Big Mike on the track ‘The Loot’.
