Sure Sure Leaves Fans Speechless After Breathtaking Show In Houston

Sure Sure at White Oak Music Hall- Written and Photographed by Ashley Moore

LA based Pop group “Sure Sure” opened for Half Alive on Wednesday at the White Oak Music Hall. Their captivating performance was nothing short of enthralling. The moment that the lights dimmed and the music started to play, the entire room was filled with a stirring energy. The band just recently released their EP titled, “What’s It Like?” earlier this summer, featuring tracks “Warm Animal”, “Good Thing”, and more. Sure Sure is heavily influenced by both “The Beatles” and “The Talking Heads”, and these eclectic influences are very apparent in their music, as well as shape their unique sound.

On top of having multiple number one songs on the Hype Machine charts, the band’s fan base is devoted and adherent. In fact, every single person in the room sang the band’s lyrics at the top of their lungs. In addition to that, the entire crowd moved and danced with the music. The band even incorporated their own simple choreography that they taught to the crowd, that corresponded with the song. The overall vibe from both the fans and the performers, was the ideal emotion of a perfect live show.

This show in particular was special, because it was the keyboardist/singer, Chris Beachy’s birthday. In between songs, the crowd fervidly sang happy birthday to him. It’s very apparent that the band has a close and intimate connection with their fans. There is a specific chemistry between the members and the audience that very few bands have. Despite the looming threat of the prevailing tropical storm, Imelda, it was still a full house. Fans even waited outside the venue while surrounded by deafening strikes of lightning, and getting poured on by rain. Wet clothes weren’t a concern for the eager fans, and the show went on.

Catch Sure Sure on their current tour with Half Alive, through 10/24.
