As the first track, “Intro”, comes on, the atmosphere set is intense as the choir sings and Chris Nero comes in with a delivery much different than what audiences may be familiar with from his previous projects. “They want to see me get angry” Nero states as he goes on a verbal tirade on “Intro”. Chris definitely has been experimenting with different styles, flows, and genres on this most recent release.

‘Nightfall’ is a trap addition to Session 1 EP and is a grimy adaptation. The beat is eerie like something from ‘X-files’ or ‘Twilight Zone’ as Nero’s delivery is very somber and storyteller like, as he tells the story of a Alief psychopath.

Another song to get excited about is, ‘Uziii’. The Houston emcee got together with fellow rapper, Lance for this instant classic. The beat takes you to another plane as Lance hops on, “Jumping on a dinosaur, tryna make my visions soar..” Oh yea, ‘Uziii’ is a solid joint.

Another track we at The Outlet are particularly familiar with is, GOD ft Cypher the Avatar. The duo performed this live at our first showcase in February and had the crowd rocking.

Session 1 EP is overall a dope project. It definitely leaves us with a lot of questions. Like what new sounds should we expect from Chris Nero in the future? Until then, keep jamming ‘Session 1’.
